New study examines the "causal" effect between interest and performance among dual students.

A new study examines the long-term correlations between subject interest and performance among students on dual study programs. The study is based on longitudinal data over three years with annually repeated measurements of a total of 1,828 participants. Using a random intercept cross-lagged panel model, the analyses show positive reciprocal effects between performance and interest over successive points in time. However, the effects vary depending on the study phase and other time-dependent conditions. The results provide valuable impulses for future research on the sustainable promotion of interest and achievement in the university context.
