The specialty of Psychological Diagnostics investigates the fairness and accuracy of the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-S).

As part of a project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), we are pleased to announce that a new research article by the Psychological Diagnostics team has been published in the peer-reviewed journal of the Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development.

Using the partial credit tree (PCtree) model, the purpose of the study was to investigate whether items on the simplified version of the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-S) exhibited differential functioning across age, gender, and clinical status, possibly compromising the fairness and diagnostic accuracy of its scores.
